Bur Oak Land Trust AmeriCorps members serve to protect and restore Eastern Iowa's natural resources. In the field, members restore critical habitat through prescribed fire and planting native plants, and remove invasive species by mechanical and targeted chemical use to create more biodiverse and resilient ecosystems. Members also engage with the community to connect people to nature by creating maps of Bur Oak properties and leading hiking tours for the public.

The Iowa Community Corps is a Public Health AmeriCorps program housed at the Iowa Department of Health & Human Services. AmeriCorps members serve directly with community-based organizations and government agencies to support capacity-building projects that expand food security and resource navigation in Iowa communities. Members receive a living allowance, education award, and access to the Community Health Worker (CHW) Professional Skills Training program. Successful completion of the CHW Professional Skills Training results in the award of a professional certificate from the Des Moines Area Community College and Iowa Chronic Care Consortium. Our AmeriCorps members engage in rewarding service and develop a professional network and skillset to forge a successful career in public health. Iowa Legal Aid (ILA) is a nonprofit organization providing critical legal assistance to low-income and vulnerable Iowans who have nowhere else to turn. From ILA's 10 regional offices and Courthouse Help Desks, AmeriCorps members provide direct services to ILA's clients and their communities, helping them access legal information, resources and support needed to resolve fundamental civil legal problems. These problems include preventing homelessness, ensuring safety and security to victims of domestic/sexual abuse, maintaining basic income supports, and avoiding unfair debt collection practices.

The Seed Coalition AmeriCorps program focuses on robust career preparation opportunities getting experience in the nonprofit and public sector realms.
