Whatβs Your 50?
A campaign challenging Iowans to volunteer 50 hours each year. ANY organization that utilizes the talents of volunteers may participate. Grab a copy of the logo and include it to your promotional materials and your website.
Recognition certificate
When your volunteers reach the benchmark of contributing 50 hours of service during one year, you may want to recognize them with a special certificate signed by Governor Kim Reynolds and Lt. Governor Adam Gregg. Download the blank certificate, type in a name and date, and print it.
Social media features
Volunteer Iowa showcases volunteers in Facebook and Twitter feature called "The 50 Faces of Volunteers." Tell us about your volunteers who have volunteered 50 or more hours in the past year so we can profile their contributions to your organization.
Volunteer Iowa Day at the Capitol
Volunteer Iowa and our partner organizations talk with legislators about the impact volunteers have in Iowa and the critical services volunteers provide. During this event, Commissioners present the Volunteer Iowa Public Policy Priorities to elected officials.
Days of Service
Specific days during a calendar year where Volunteer Iowa, AmeriCorps, and the Governor's Office encourage citizens to take part in a Day of Service to serve and help their community.
Organizations across Iowa will plan activities that give citizens an opportunity to give back. Activities will depend on the specific project, but could range from collection drives, painting, gardening, serving or packaging meals or tutoring children, to cleaning up parks and more. The Day of Service could have partnerships with local schools, families, faith-based groups, businesses and governments to accomplish the activities or projects. Post your project online to help you reach the largest pool of potential volunteers possible!
Volunteer Iowa Portal
A statewide system for volunteers and organizations to use to connect. Volunteers can look for opportunities, events, or their favorite agencies, and organizations can post volunteer opportunities or search for registered volunteers to serve at their agency or work on a project.
